Job Description
Summary City Schoolhouse seeks a caring, mission-driven individual to support our after-school programs and year-round camps. In this role, you will guide elementary- and middle-school-aged students in a positive, faith-based environment, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and engaging activities that extend our school?s mission beyond the traditional classroom.
Duties - Student Supervision & Transition
- Safely pick up and escort students from nearby schools (Shaffner Elementary), ensuring sign-in/out protocols and daily attendance.
- Facilitate snack, free-play, enrichment, tutoring, and fitness activities.
- Learning & Enrichment
- Provide homework help, reading support, and project-based learning opportunities (with assistance from assigned Tutors).
- Organize STEM and creative activities consistent with City Schoolhouse?s educational philosophy.
- Encourage personal growth and positive social interactions through guided play and structured group sessions.
- Environment & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting space, including routine sweeping, vacuuming, and tidying.
- Enforce health and safety procedures while modeling respectful and inclusive behavior.
- Oversee secure storage of supplies and proper use of all program materials.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with colleagues, families, and volunteers to communicate and address concerns.
- Uphold City Schoolhouse?s Christian commitment in both verbal and written communication.
- Remain flexible and supportive of additional school-related activities, as needed (e.g., camps during holidays, extra duties when public school is out).
Requirements - Faith & Mission Alignment : Commitment to City Schoolhouse?s Statement of Faith; ability to serve as a positive Christian role model for children.
- Minimum Education & Age : High school diploma (or equivalent) required; 18 years or older.
- Background Checks : Able to pass a comprehensive background check and any required screenings.
- Schedule & Availability : Typically Monday?Friday, 2:00 p.m.?6:00 p.m. during the school year, with full-day shifts when school is not in session.
- Communication Skills : Effective, compassionate verbal and written communication with children and adults.
- Physical Requirements : Capability to stand, walk, or play actively for extended periods and lift moderate weight (e.g., supplies).

Professional Skills :
