Alumni Entrepreneur Network Build-out: Miami About the Opportunity Summary The focus of this 3-month temporary assignment will be to create a comprehensive alumni entrepreneur directory for Florida collecting pertinent current data within a variety of fields (industry, scope, revenue, etc.). This directory will enable a launch of a series of evening career enhancement programming that will launch Jan., 2025 out of the Miami campus, supervised by Rick Davis. The final output will also include an inaugural app to be beta-tested in Florida with expectation for global expansion. At present, no app exists for any of Northeastern's varied entrepreneur communities, ecosystems and infrastructure. This app development will replace sole dependency on social platforms and outdated email databases to reach our alumni entrepreneurs. Will include location based overlay with push notifications to inform users of varied NU entrepreneur activities and resources as they travel. The app will become the connector of the community with varied services and applications built within the system. Will connect to the Boston nodes. To be called 'EntreNU' (playing off entre nous' definition).
The main deliverables/expectation for this position will be : Build the alumni entrepreneur directory. Create the skeletal app framework and locate/identify vendor to finalize construction. Load in directory and test. Include all technical components to allow for push notification, location based services, event registration, just-in-time chat features. Engage with alumni entrepreneurs as data is collected to ascertain relevant programming desired and suggest 5 key recommendations for entrepreneurial engagement housed out of Miami campus. Provide weekly status reports to Rick Davis, VP AGE and prepare to pivot assignments accordingly. Assist Rick with hosting first series of evening programming in January, 2025-- on the Miami campus.
Qualifications/Experience - Proven track record of sourcing, cultivating and stewarding community and relationships
- Deep understanding of the entrepreneurial eco-system and the unique needs of entrepreneurs across industries
- Project management experience will be key as part of the app framework and vendor evaluation and selection process
- Technical understanding and the ability to translate between the end-user(s) and the technical team (both for the director and app framework)
- Event/workshop management would be a plus
