Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bilingual Purchasing Manager to join our team. The Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurants by managing all aspects of procurement, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food and beverage purchasing, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of high-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors based on quality, price, reliability, and service.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Manage inventory levels to optimize stock levels while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
  • Communicate with kitchen staff and management on systems and processes that should be followed.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and product innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies in all purchasing activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor communications.
  • Oversee the receiving process to ensure accuracy and quality control of incoming goods.
  • Resolve any purchasing-related issues or discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Highly organized with files, documents, and projects.
  • Strong vendor communication skills addressing issues and concerns of the organization.
  • Being proactive with addressing internal and external discrepancies.
  • Detail oriented with reviewing invoices, Purchase Orders and vendor agreements
  • Understanding of basic culinary concepts that are applicable to the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English / Spanish is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Category Management or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Buyer, Category Manager, Food and Beverage Manager or similar role in the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage products, suppliers, and market trends.
  • Experience in using Inventory Management Platforms. Xtrachef, Craftables, Restaurant365, Crunchtime, MarketMan, Netsuite, etc.
  • Excellent writing skills in composing internal and external communications.
  • Great Interpersonal skills, and a handful of negotiation tactics and strategies.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Available to work a Sunday to Thursday schedule, or Monday to Friday schedule.
  • NYC DOH Food Handler certificate preferred.

Pay: $80K - $100K Depending on Experience

Compensation & Benefits

This position will have a base annual salary in the range of $80K to $100K. In addition, this position will be eligible for the following benefits:
