UPLIFT Desk is seeking an experienced and highly motivated SEO Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team. As an SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all SEO activities, including content strategy, link building, and keyword strategy, to increase rankings on all major search networks. This role will also oversee all SEM campaigns on Google, Yahoo, and Bing to maximize ROI. You will play a crucial role in keeping our sites and pages technically optimized for mobile users and search performance, focusing on information architecture, schema management, semantic HTML, page speed, and other components of crawling and indexing performance. Additionally, you will perform ongoing keyword research to discover new opportunities and trends based on industry and company product evolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field
  • 5+ years of SEO or search marketing experience at an ecommerce company, you are considered an “expert” by your peers with a proven track record of successful SEO campaigns and content marketing strategies across Google, Yahoo and Bing.
  • 3+ years of experience writing and editing content, ideally for an eCommerce business
  • Ability to work in CMS systems (Contentful is a plus).
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, SEMrush, etc.
  • Comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for on-page SEO tactics (source code analysis)

  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors
  • You’re a strong verbal and written communicator, a great partner to engineers and other teams, and able to execute projects and analysis independently
  • Proficient in designing tests and working with the web team to optimize email conversion rates
  • Ability to create compelling and original content

What You’ll Do

  • Be responsible for driving organic traffic to our pages and improving conversion rate
  • Optimize our site to improve our reach in Google, Bing, and other search engines. You’ll track traffic patterns, research keywords users are searching for, and analyze data to determine how to make our pages rank higher
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization for landing pages for search engine marketing
  • Audit content to advise campaign- and content-creators on when to create new content, update old content, and consolidate older content to ensure rankings and best practices for optimizing user experience
  • Monitor traffic and understand the impact of optimizations as well as external changes (such as algorithm updates, SERP changes, and Google global algorithm changes)
  • Research and analyze competitor advertising links and develop and implement link building strategies
  • Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on the website in both existing and new code
  • Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
  • Analyze organic search landscapes to find opportunities that drive valuable traffic and bottom-line value for the business in collaboration with our experience and business teams
  • Leverage in-house marketing tools to inform strategic decisions with data
  • Focus on improving brand visibility through organic rankings to drive full funnel visibility via traffic volume, as well as conversions that impact the bottom-line P&L
  • Drive a hypothesis-driven, analytics-based approach to lead improvements in rank and performance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
